
Aaron and Ben Kopel
Aaron Kopel is known as the “Momentum Locksmith®”, and is the CEO of Project Brilliant who helps guide leaders in their quest for Business Agility. He is the author of Amazon #1 Best Seller “Unlocking Momentum”. He brings more than 25 years of professional experience and is one of only about 20 people in the world who hold the top four Scrum Alliance credentials: Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®), Certified Enterprise Coach® (CEC®), Certified Agile Leadership Educator (CAL-Ed), and Path to CSP® Educator (CSP-Ed), and was selected as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the creation of the Scrum Alliance’s CAS-Scaling (CAS-S) offering in 2023. He is a co-founder of several local/regional Agile communities including AgileIndy, Agile Fort Wayne, Agile Dayton, and Agile Louisville, is a two-time tech startup entrepreneur, and a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant winner.
He joined the Forbes Business Council (FBC) and is the founder of the FBC Business Agility group. Aaron is well known for his engaging and interactive workshops that simplify complicated business and leadership topics through creative visuals, memorable stories, and witty humor. Aaron earned his BA from Wartburg College (Business and CIS), a graduate of the top 20 MBA program at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, lives his passions for history and travel by having visited more than 50 countries, and lives in Carmel, IN, USA with his amazing wife and their two teenagers.
Ben Kopel is a Business Agility Coach at Project Brilliant. He is a curious learner focused on supporting teams and Leaders, as well as enabling adaptive organizations through awareness, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Ben was introduced to Agile and Scrum in the late 2000s by one of the Agile Manifesto authors. Working as a developer on waterfall projects, discussions with the Manifesto author led to ‘lightbulb moments’. Ben got involved in the local Agile community, took a CSM® class, left the big corporation for a startup, and the rest is history. Ben has worked with Agile teams since the late 2000s as a developer, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, trainer and manager. He has coached hundreds of individuals and teams, led large scale Agile adoptions and taught classes at Northwestern University in Chicago.
Ben was the co-founder of the Agile Coaching Summit – a two-day Open Space event in Chicago – and an organizer of the PittAgile Gathering, the first grassroots Agile conference in Pittsburgh. In addition to speaking at events and supporting Agile communities across the globe, Ben serves on the Scrum Alliance Guides Advisory Team and Certified Enterprise Coach Review Team.
Ben was only the second person in the world to become a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®), Professional Scrum Trainer® (PST®), Certified Enterprise Coach® (CEC®) and Certified Team Coach® (CTC®). He lives with his wife and two children in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.
